Debora Spini
NYU Florence Lecturer of ‘Social Foundations’ and Professor of ‘Political Theory’ at Syracuse University in Florence

Debora Spini teaches ‘Social Foundations’ at New York University Florence, political theory at Syracuse University in Florence and is adjunct professor in Social Philosophy at the Cesare Alfieri School of Political Science at the University of Florence. Her most recent publications are La Società civile post nazionale (Meltemi, Roma, 2006); with Andrea Giuntini and Piero Meucci she edited the book Le parole del mondo globale (ETS, Pisa, 2008); and with M. Fontanella she edited Il sogno e la politica. Il futuro dell’America nella comunicazione politica dei democrats (Florence University Press, 2008). She has published various essays and chapters in collective books, the most recent include “European Civil Society, Identity and Legitimacy” in F. Cerutti, S. Lucarelli, eds., European Union: Identity and Legitimacy (London, Routledge, 2008); “Of Leviathan and Other Animals, Notes on European Identity”, in L. Leonardi, ed., Sociology of Europe (Florence University Press, 2008); “Fra Valori e Interessi: la società civile in un mondo post nazionale”, in Iride, anno 2008, n. 1; “Politica, Religiòn y Espacio Publico” in Claves de Razòn Practica, n. 185, Settembre 2008.
