The decision by British voters for the UK to leave the EU in a referendum on June 23, 2016 sent shock waves across Europe, many fearing a domino effect. Since then, a transition period that will culminate in Britain leaving the European Union has started and negotiations are ongoing. Tim Oliver will analyse the causes of Brexit and its meaning for the European Union.
