The 2011 revolutions and uprisings in the Middle East have shown how courageous Arab women can be in taking to the streets to protest for liberty, dignity, political accountability and social justice. How has women´s role evolved over the past years, especially in the activist community? What are female activists´ strengths and what difficulties do they face in Egypt and in other Arab countries? Is there a specific feminine perspective in civil society work for human rights and civil liberties?
