Primo Levi is a unique figure. He was one of the first survivors of Auschwitz to publish a book about his experience, If This is a Man, followed by other books about his journey home, The Truce, his work as a chemist, The Periodic Table, and many other essays and narrative works, including his last, fundamental book, The Drowned and the Saved. His work combines in depth analysis with linear prose, personal insight with universal themes. The literary and historical significance of his work is widely recognized. He is the only modern Italian author whose complete works have been published in English.

Join Prof. Robert Gordon and Dr. Guri Schwarz in a conversation about Primo Levi’s literary and historical legacy at the crossroads between individual, collective and national memories.
