How are tolerance and peace fostered in practice?

The film Of Many is a powerful and nuanced exploration of the complexity of interfaith dialogue in the aftermath of 9/11 and the possibilities opened through the ‘unlikely friendship’ between NYU’s Rabbi Yehudda Sarna and Imam Khalid Latif and the service program they developed together.
The Tolerance Quilt Project is an initiative of NYU Florence and the City of Florence. Members of the Florentine community are invited to represent their message of peace and tolerance on a square that will be sewn together into a community quilt that will be unveiled on the annual September 11, 2016 Vigil for Peace and displayed at Palazzo Vecchio. Students are invited to create their square at a ‘tolerance square’-making workshop following the film screening.
